It's here! It's here! It's finally summer vacation! This school year didn't seem to fly by as quickly as last year, but I still cannot believe that come fall I will have a second grader!

First grade was a great year. Logan had an awesome teacher who we both hate to leave behind. I worried a bit at the beginning of the year over his reading test scores but really brought those scores up by the end of the year. All of his grades came up and by the third nine weeks he had straight S+'s in the main subjects of focus and S's in the others. He likes math and is an awesome speller. He had great attendance (the day he missed for my Grandma's funeral was not counted). We did have a few bumps along the way. October is still a rough month due to all the Fire Prevention stuff with drills and alarms. Mr. Sensitive Ears is not a fan and there were a lot of tears and anxiety. His teacher was very understanding and helped him along, and guess what? When the drills finally happened, he was fine and handled it like a champ! He gets so worked up and then is fine. We also dealt with our first bully issue. I will not go into detail but will say I was happy with how the teacher, principal and the rest of the staff handled it and it was resolved quickly and everything is fine now.
The last few weeks of school were busy! There was a talent show and last week the school spend a day at the park. Friday was the last day of school and it ended with the bigger kids doing a musical (super cute) and an awards ceremony. Logan received the Excellence in Spelling award and the Courage Award for really coming out of his shell this year.
