Be My Valentine

Last Friday was Valentine's Day. Forget the hearts and flowers and mushy stuff...this has turned into another day to give presents to the kid. Let's face it, he is way more fun to shop for! The last time we tried to go out to dinner turned into Restaurant Tour 20??. We tried to get into about 5 different restaurants just to end up at McDonald's.  If anything, we do dinner out on/around my birthday a week later, so no big deal. And while flowers are nice, it's an insanely expensive for something that's going to die in a matter of days. Besides, I'd be more surprised and excited if he brought home a bouquet from the grocery store.

Valentine's Day is more focused around the school party these days. His class just does a small party (no room parent involvement), which worked out great this year because it was only a half day of school. Logan picked out Star Wars Valentine cards last year when they went on clearance (he wanted the Yoda head they came in lol) and he wanted to go ahead and use the cards. I have had these red plastic sand shovels living in my closet for a few years and was tired of looking at them, so we made a treat with them as well. Logan is always vague on school details, but here's what I did gather from the school party: a grandma came in and had them all decorate cupcakes and everyone got a stuffed monkey.

Presents

I was so glad it was a short day. The weather turned nasty in the morning and by pick up time it was awful. The short drive to the school wasn't too bad. We decided to venture on to the promised McDonald's lunch. Of course when we turned onto the street near City Hall the emergency vehicles were going out. Between this, the weather, and cars backed up at a light, we ended up detouring and went to the McDonald's opposite of what I planned on. The roads were awful. The south lane had not been plowed and visibility was pretty much zero. Coming back was better since the northbound lane had been plowed. We turned on to a side street near us that looked like it hadn't been traveled. Lots of fun in the ol' mini van lol.

When Matt came home that evening we decided to order pizza. Then we exchanged our presents. Matt got a new coffee mug, I got a new Precious Moments figurine and Logan got some Legos, candy and Sully from Monsters Inc.

It was a good day.

A Squeaky Clean Giveaway

As promised, I have another giveaway! The great people at Purex Insiders sent me a full-sized bottle of Dial's new Vitamin Boost Body Wash. This body wash is lotion infused with a new vitamin complex for healthy soft skin.

I tried it out the other morning. I was sent the Amazing B formula. It's a thicker creamy soap with a light scent that wasn't overpowering. This cold weather has done a number on my skin so I was pleasantly surprised when my skin felt softer and less itchy.

Wanna try it for free? I have two coupons for a FREE bottle. Comment below if you would like to be entered to win. If you follow the blog, please let me know and that will earn you an extra entry. And if you don't follow, what are you waiting for?!?!

I will draw a winner on Saturday!

Who Likes FREE stuff?!?!

A couple of weeks ago I took note that I was almost out of fabric softener. A few hours later a package from Purex Insiders arrived on my porch. They sent me a bottle of Purex Crystals to try!

I really like the crystals. When I had my old front loader, the softener dispenser was so clogged I could not use liquid softener. With the crystals, this is something I do not have to worry about with my current machine. The scent (fresh mountain breeze) is light but long-lasting. My laundry smells nice a few weeks after it has been washed. It also does not reduce the absorbency of towels and its natural formula is safe for your family and for our planet. Logan and I both tend to have itchy, dry skin, especially in the winter, and this product does not irritate our skin.

Now for the great part: the awesome people at Purex sent me three coupons for a FREE 28 oz bottle of Fresh Mountain Breeze Purex. Want to win? Here's how: leave a comment on this blog telling me you want to win. Earn an extra entry for following my blog...and let me know in your comment that you are a follower. That's it! On Friday I'll announce the winners. I think I'll go old-school and let the kiddo draw names from a hat :o)

Stay tuned...Purex sent me another awesome product to try, so another giveaway will be coming soon!
